A crowd of tourists, kids and nearby office workers couldn't help gawking at the installation
of the giant ''Three Heads Six Arms'' sculpture on the east end of Civic Center Plaza.
The Buddhist-inspired copper artwork by Chinese artist Zhang Huan and presented by the San
Francisco Arts Commission, made its world debut as part of a celebration marking the
30-year-old sister-city relationship between San Francisco and Shanghai.
During assembly, crews had to work from inside the piece and exit through the massive arms.
When the last arm was attached, the only way out was through a hidden trap door at the
top of one of the heads. Installation was on display through 2011.
